Online Record of Processing Activities
We offer an interactive way to keep the record of processing activities.
We provide comprehensive support in setting up and accrediting a certification body and in approving certification criteria. We also assist in certifying the data protection compliance of your processing activities and in proving your knowledge of privacy law through certificates.
As practice shows, certifications under data protection law are rapidly gaining in importance as proof of compliance with the provisions of the GDPR. The establishment of such certifications, which is standardized throughout the Union in Art 42 f GDPR, is specified by national requirements for certification bodies. We have not only gained practical experience with the establishment of monitoring bodies, but have also been intensively involved in the establishment of certification bodies and have already contributed scientifically to the standardization process.
Controllers and processors may prove the fulfilment of their privacy obligations by means of such certificates (see e.g. Art 24 para. 3 GDPR). Although we have to expect the creation of certification bodies according to the Austrian Certification Body Accreditation Ordinance (ZeStAkk-V) – which will most likely be issued at the end of 2020 – we always are happy to advise you in order to obtain such a certification as soon as possible. However, certification criteria as a basis for the award of such certificates by then accredited certification bodies can already be drafted and submitted to the supervisory authorities for approval.
In addition to the certification of privacy products and services, you can also have your own privacy knowledge certified. For example, the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the largest global organization for data protection professionals, offers three different certificates with different focuses:
We have acquired all certificates ourselves, so we can provide you with first-hand tips. Furthermore, we are in contact with the IAPP certified and licensed training partner to recommend two-day training courses at their premises.
We have more than a decade of experience in training employees in privacy law. In this context, we offer basic training for large sections of the workforce, as well as for the management, legal, IT and marketing departments and for those responsible for privacy in other departments. Special training courses are also available for persons and employees who are experienced and versed in privacy law and who are able to deal with current decisions of authorities and courts as well as guidelines of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) or supervisory authorities of other member states.
